Is Birthright Citizenship Legal?

by James Buchanan

There’s a misconception that any couple from any country can produce a child in the U.S. and that child will automatically be a U.S. citizen. There’s just one little catch: The parents need to be in the U.S. legally as citizens.

An article from the Washington Times reports “The government’s citizenship chief said Wednesday that there’s no need to amend the Constitution to stop automatic citizenship being granted to immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally, though he said he’s not sure whether President Trump could act alone or if it would take a law from Congress.”

“Ken Cuccinelli, the acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, said that second issue still needs study, but he said he has a firm belief that the Constitution allows it…”

“His agency manages the Obama-era DACA deportation amnesty that’s protecting hundreds of thousands of immigrant ‘Dreamers,’ but he expects the Supreme Court to greenlight the Trump administration’s plans to phase DACA out.”

The chances of retaking the House in 2020 are looking excellent as well as Trump’s chances of reelection. There’s a small chance the Republicans might increase their majority in the Senate to 60. If the GOP can reach 60 in the Senate, the filibuster rule will no longer give the Democrats a veto power in the Senate, which is why Trump was blocked from doing anything in his first two years.

More likely the Republicans will be in the mid 50s in the Senate and will have to either get rid of the filibuster rule and/or replace Mitch McConnell in his primary with a pro-Trump Republican.

During Trump’s first two years there was talk of a DACA/Dreamer Amnesty that might have given U.S. citizenship to two million people. Trump’s base wants nothing of the kind, especially if it’s giving the Democrats two million more votes just because of the filibuster rule.

It’s good to see the Trump administration taking steps against Birthright Citizenship because we seriously need to start mass deporting the left-wing’s fifth column from the Third World before it becomes impossible for White people to elect a government that actually represents us.
