A New York Times article reported “Apple, Google, Facebook and Spotify severely restricted the reach of Mr. Jones and Infowars…”
“YouTube terminated Mr. Jones’s channel, which had more than 2.4 million subscribers and billions of views on its videos…”
Alex Jones has repeatedly been accused of doing things, which he simply hasn’t done. About 95 percent of the accusations against Jones have been false. Several accusations about violence involved Jones replaying (via fair use) videos that were aired on the mainstream media news of Muslims throwing Gays off roof tops and one video of an out-of-control child, who was attacking people in an airport.
The real issue here is that Jones played a key role in the 2016 election helping Donald Trump to defeat Hillary Clinton. The liberals running Big Tech, who control the social media platforms, were looking for any excuse they could find to de-platform Jones and have been increasingly falsely accusing him of violating their “terms of service.”
While some people may make the argument that these are “private” companies that can do whatever they want; they effectively constitute a monopoly, and there’s a good chance that anti-trust laws will soon be used against them.
There is however another law, the lawyers for Mr. Zuckerberg and Ms. Wojcicki should have warned their bosses about and that’s 18 U.S.C. Section 241 which makes it a crime “If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States…”
Clearly Zuckerberg and Wojcicki conspired together to oppress Mr. Jones’ Right to Free Speech on their social media platforms to affect the midterm elections and the upcoming 2020 elections.
There’s no need to create any new laws here or “an Internet Bill of Rights.” If these CEOs are faced with prison or their empires getting broken up into little pieces by an Anti-Trust ruling, their respect for Free Speech will suddenly manifest itself.
