There is a sharp divide over John McCain among Americans. Some people regard him as a war hero even though he hadn’t earned a single medal before being shot down and his fellow POWs labeled him the “VC songbird” for collaborating with the North Vietnamese Communists as noted here and here.
The biggest betrayal of ordinary Americans by John McCain came in the form of the 2007 and 2013 Amnesty Bills. McCain collaborated with Democrats and the Deep State to try to give an Amnesty to over 20 million illegal aliens, which would have ended America as we know it, and give the Democrats a permanent hold on executive power similar to what they have achieved in California thanks to its non-White majority.
As John McCain’s health problems have been in the news again, the battle over his real legacy has started again.
A recent news article reports “Sen. John McCain is in stable condition after undergoing surgery for an intestinal infection related to diverticulitis, his family and Senate office said Monday.”
McCain’s biggest health concern is a brain tumor, which has historically been fast acting and fatal. It seems likely that McCain is receiving special treatment for his condition which has had dramatic success in controlling his condition. One article notes “Scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston have identified the mechanism by which a specific protein called PRMT5 drives the growth of glioblastoma tumors.”
“What is more, by blocking this mechanism with a class of existing drugs, they were able to arrest glioblastoma tumor growth…”
“While glioblastomas are not the most common brain tumor, they are the deadliest; median survival is just 14.6 months after a glioblastoma diagnosis, if a patient is treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.”
It seems fairly certain that McCain is getting this new breakthrough treatment. Curiously, Ted Kennedy and Johnny Cochrane both came down with this condition and died after just a few months.
An article from the Daily Beast reports “In a new book, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) writes that his battle with brain cancer has given him a sense of liberation to vote and speak his mind.”
“’This is my last term,’ McCain writes in his upcoming book The Restless Wave, which he co-authored with former adviser Mark Salter. An excerpt of the book was posted Monday on Apple News.”
“’If I hadn’t admitted that to myself before this summer, a stage 4 cancer diagnosis acts as ungentle persuasion,’ McCain continues. ‘I’m freer than colleagues who will face the voters again. I can speak my mind without fearing the consequences much. And I can vote my conscience without worry. I don’t think I’m free to disregard my constituents’ wishes, far from it. I don’t feel excused from keeping pledges I made. Nor do I wish to harm my party’s prospects. But I do feel a pressing responsibility to give Americans my best judgment.’”
So John McCain is saying that he feels freer now to tell the truth. Does that mean that he has been lying to the American public up ’til now?
If McCain told the truth about his position on Amnesty in the 2010 or 2016 election, he would have been defeated in his own primary just like other pro-Amnesty Republicans, but he did what he always does: He lied and the liberal media never called him out on his lies and his highly distorted and undeserved reputation as a “war hero” which helped him fool the voters again and again.
