President Trump Pardons Retired Sheriff Joe Arpaio

by James Buchanan

A Reuters article reports “U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday granted a pardon to former Arizona lawman and political ally Joe Arpaio, the self-proclaimed ‘toughest sheriff in America,’ less than a month after he was convicted of criminal contempt…”

It was a tremendous disgrace that Sheriff Joe Arpaio was the victim of repeated harassment by the Obama “Justice” Department. We already knew that federal agencies under Obama were abusing their power for political reasons. In 2012, it was a major scandal that hundreds of right-wing and Tea Party organizations were being delayed or denied a non-profit status by the IRS which of course interfered with their operations, which was Obama’s intent. No one has been prosecuted or sent to jail for that to this day.

In the case of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, he simply wanted to enforce existing illegal immigration law. He wasn’t going along with the Obama regime’s “catch and release” policy which was nothing more than a de facto Open Borders program.

We’ve had some very corrupt administrations in the past, which have dragged, lied or pushed us into unnecessary wars, but the Obama regime appears to be unique in the way that it just flagrantly ignored existing U.S. law time and again. No doubt, most System Republicans were too afraid of calling Obama out for his crimes and lawless behavior for fear of seeming “racist.”

Thankfully, Donald Trump is president now, and the crooked policies of Obama are being undone, including the completely unjust prosecution of an American hero, Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Perhaps, statues of Sheriff Arpaio should be erected around the U.S. just to tick off all the Antifa and Social Justice Warriors, who still can’t believe that Trump is president.
