Shortly after the horrific Islamic terror attack in Paris on November 13th, 2015, in which 130 innocent people were killed, Donald Trump observed that only the bad guys had guns. One source reports “Donald Trump, speaking at a rally… in Beaumont, Texas, suggested that fewer people would have been killed had more civilians been armed.”
“’When you look at Paris, toughest gun laws in the world, nobody had guns but the bad guys,’ he said. ‘Nobody had guns. And they were just shooting them one by one, and then they (the police) broke in and had a big shootout and ultimately killed the terrorists. And I will tell you what — you can say what you want, if they (the citizens) had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry, it would have been a much, much different situation.’”
The President of the Czech Republic appears to be joining Trump in supporting armed citizens as a defense against terrorism. The Czech government is giving its citizens gun rights so they can shoot back if terrorists try to slaughter people there.
An article from the Daily Caller reports “The lower house of the Czech parliament voted to put gun owners’ rights in the constitution Wednesday, arguing it protects citizens from Islamist terrorists.”
“The European Commission passed stricter gun laws in December in response to a growing terror threat. The Czech Republic was one of three countries to oppose the changes, and it is now about to make it legal for citizens to use firearms to protect the security of the country.”
“’This constitutional bill is in reaction to the recent increase of security threats, especially the danger of violent acts such as isolated terrorist attacks … active attackers or other violent hybrid threats,’ a draft of the bill reads…”
“The bill passed the lower house by a large majority. It will now go through the upper house before President Milos Zeman can sign it into law…”
It’s a pity that basic human Rights such as Free Speech and the Right to Keep and Bear Arms are still being denied to citizens of France, Germany and England. England has suffered three major terrorist attacks in 2017. Germany just suffered two terrorist attacks in the last week. The situation is getting worse, not better. It takes an extremely out of touch government of arrogant liberal elitists to deny law-abiding citizens the ability to defend themselves especially when terror attacks keep happening.
