Most Americans are so used to nothing-but-bad-news coming from our government, that it’s a shock to hear about our government actually doing something good.
A recent news article reports “President Donald Trump’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants by federal agents is scaring some of those families back to Mexico, according to knowledgable sources in the Pueblo community.”
“According to news reports, federal Immigration and Custom Enforcement agents were told in a February memorandum to detain any undocumented person they encountered — not just those with a criminal history or those in jails, the previous policy…”
“Sources report that some undocumented families have left the area for Mexico rather than run the risk of having a parent arrested or even sentenced to prison for immigration violations.”
These people are all criminals because they are not allowed to be here by law. If you think this is “unreasonable,” just try sneaking into Turkey or Iran without going through the normal customs procedure. You’ll probably be locked up as a suspected drug smuggler or spy!!
The article continues “Rubio, for example, was facing felony charges from repeat immigration violations and was likely to be sentenced to prison before being deported, according to his family.”
Actually, I’m not completely happy with that. Many of these people probably prefer a jail cell in America to their villages full of burro dung back home.
Maybe the best procedure for punishing illegal aliens, who are caught by ICE, would be to fine them, possibly by confiscating their car or confiscating a hefty chunk of their bank account and then kick them back across the border. The word will get around Mexico that crime doesn’t pay.
