Ann Coulter wrote in a recent article “If this is the budget deal we get when Republicans control the House, the Senate and the presidency, there’s no point in ever voting for a Republican again.”
“Not only is there no funding for a wall, but — thanks to the deft negotiating skills of House Speaker Paul Ryan — the bill actually prohibits money from being spent on a wall.”
It seems James Comey isn’t the only compromised stooge that needs to be fired. Perhaps, Trump should get Paul Ryan replaced as Speaker of the House and make sure he’s standing on the south side of the border wall when it does finally get built.
While the Democrats and secretly liberal System Republicans think that they’ve dodged a bullet by postponing the border wall until at least September, maybe we don’t have to wait that long.
Instead of going through the traditional “tax and spend” budget haggling in Congress, why doesn’t Trump try something innovative to get the border wall started now.
Building the border wall is something that most Americans actually want to happen, unlike the vast majority of largely wasteful expenditures by our government. So why not enlist ordinary Americans to raise the money for the wall?
We could probably raise more than the one billion dollars Trump originally sought in the budget bill that Paul Ryan so badly bungled from donations from ordinary Americans. Imagine that: Americans actually paying for something that they want the government to do voluntarily! That’s something that would never happen with a liberal big government program. Liberal altruism always starts with your wallet and the government threatening to arrest you unless you fork over all the money they say you owe them.
Conservatives however are willing to put up their own money for the right cause. The NRA for example has millions of Americans paying dues to make sure gun-grabbing tyrants like Charles Schumer and Dianne Feinstein don’t shred the Second Amendment. That same freedom-loving patriotic spirit would certainly be able to raise a billion or two to start the border wall.
An even better plan might be to sell federal bonds for a border wall. Trump could probably raise the entire $15 billion cost of the wall in a few months if Americans knew they would get their money back with interest. Another advantage of this plan would be that tariffs on Mexico could ultimately pay off those bonds so that Trump could keep his promise about Mexico paying for the wall.
Trump needs to correct that colossal blunder by Paul Ryan and get the border wall started now. We don’t need to see video of Chuck Schumer gleefully rubbing his hands together at the thought of illegal aliens streaming across from Mexico. Trump knows how to think outside the box and how to get funding for big construction projects. This would be a great time for him to put that talent to work.
