America finally has a president, who has vowed to hold the interests of the American public above the interests of the powerful Wall Street corporations, who clearly controlled the last four presidents.
For 28 years, the US government has been on a road toward more outsourcing of jobs, more illegal aliens and more Diversity for America. Anyone who pointed out that this was bad for American citizens was denounced as a racist by both Democrats and the thoroughly spineless System Republicans. Multiple terrorist attacks by Muslims were not enough to stop immigration from troubled parts of the world. After all, none of the political elite were being killed by those terrorists.
Now we have a president, who actually sees the same problems that we do, and is willing to speak out about them and who has promised to actually do something about them.
In his Inaugural speech, Trump said “We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and to restore its promise for all of our people.”
“Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for years to come.”
“We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done…”
“Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning. Because today we are not merely transferring power from one Administration to another, or from one party to another – but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People.”
“For too long, a small group in our nation’s Capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost.”
“Washington flourished – but the people did not share in its wealth.”
“Politicians prospered – but the jobs left, and the factories closed.”
“The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country.”
“Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s Capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.”
“That all changes – starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you…”
Today is a great day for America. We finally have a president who isn’t owned by special interests because he didn’t take their money. Trump will likely change a lot of things for the better. In the long term, we need to go beyond what Trump will do, but at least we’re finally changing the course of the nation for the better, and that’s something we should all be celebrating!
