All those special snowflakes, who thought they might have a chance to overturn the presidential election, will have to go scurrying off to look for a new safe space now because the all-important recount in Pennsylvania ain’t happening.
The Washington Examiner reports “Jill Stein has everything she needs to launch a presidential recount. She’s got the cash, the grassroots fervor and the spotlight of an adoring media. But there’s one thing she needs to overturn Trump’s victory: a calendar.”
“Stein missed Pennsylvania’s deadline to file for a voter-initiated recount. That blown deadline is a huge blow for Democrats who have pinned their hopes on recounts in the Keystone State, Michigan and Wisconsin.”
“‘According to Wanda Murren, spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Department of State,’ the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday, ‘the deadline for a voter-initiated recount was Monday, Nov. 21.'”
With only 10 delegates at stake in Wisconsin and 16 in Michigan, those two states could only bring Trump down from 306 to 280, which is ten more delegates than he needs to win.
There are rumors that Hillary’s people have been frantically trying to convince and/or bribe delegates to switch from Trump to Hillary. Now that Pennsylvania is out of the picture and that there could be serious repercussions for ignoring the will of the voters, their motivation to switch may be waning. Why betray the voters when you’re not even sure it will change the outcome?
Most recalls fail. Only three state elections in the last 15 years years have been flipped by a recount and those elections were within a few hundred votes. Trump’s lead in Michigan is 10,704 votes. Trump’s lead in Wisconsin is a little over 22,000.
