Anyone familiar with how big government works should be suspicious when he sees the political Left lobbying to create a whole new branch of “science” with alarming claims and demands for billions of dollars to establish a brand new branch of liberal academia.
Considering that it’s rare to get a weather forecast that’s valid for more than three days, it’s hard to believe that so many people have bought into the notion that “global warming experts” can tell us what the earth’s temperature increase will be for the next 100 years.
Also, global warming legislation gives corrupt politicians a very big club to threaten big corporations with. California enacted global warming legislation, driving a number of businesses out of the state and increasing the cost of doing business for many others. The potential for graft and corruption is huge as government CO2 inspectors could extort bribes or Democrat politicians could threaten corporations with a CO2 witch hunt if they didn’t contribute enough to the DNC. No sane person has ever seriously called carbon dioxide a “pollutant” before which enables liberal politicians to tax or fine anything from cows to big industry, making California the most business-unfriendly state in the U.S.
1). Is Global Warming even going on right now?
No. It isn’t. There was a brief period of warming from the 1980s through the 1990s, but there has been a prolonged period of zero warming.
2). How solid is the “green house gas” theory?
Not very. Increases in carbon dioxide will supposedly trigger a green house effect for the entire planet. Carbon dioxide levels however are below a tenth of one percent and past changes in CO2 appear to have zero correlation with the earth’s average temperature. It remains to be seen if there even is an increase in carbon dioxide or if plants would merely grow faster since CO2 is basically plant food. Global warming due to increased CO2 is nothing more than a theory and not a very scientific theory, but one that will likely be found to be completely wrong if any honest scientific measurements are ever done.
3). Is there any existing data to refute the theory of man-made global warming?
Yes. During the 1970s, the earth’s average temperature was dropping and Time magazine even ran stories on the earth’s cooling. Apparently, the sun’s heat output randomly varies (which would explain past ice ages), and there’s little man can do to counter whatever natural temperature fluctuations the sun is experiencing.
