California’s Water Shortage Continues

An article on Pagesix.com reports: “Let them drink dust!” As these aerial photos from the Post prove, Hollywood celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Barbra Streisand and Jennifer Lopez continue to suck up water to keep their gardens fresh and lawns green, while Southern California withers from a devastating drought.

“Experts predict California reservoirs have less than a year’s worth of drinking water left. An emergency law passed last week forces local cities to conserve water immediately. The Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, which supplies many of these elite enclaves north of Los Angeles , will have four weeks starting next month to cut water use by a staggering 36 percent. But the mandate is toothless, with the maximum fine a paltry $100.”

“‘We’re right up there with Beverly Hills ,’ said one official who estimates 70 percent of the district’s water is going to the lawn maintenance of about 100 manicured estates. ‘And that means we have to get the A-listers on the bus.’”

Those people are mega-hooked in with the Democratic party. No one’s going do squat to them, and everybody knows it. Instead of cracking down on people with five acre front lawns, some poor schmuck living in a small apartment will be told to take a one minute shower, to not run the water when he shaves and to flush less often. If he dares to use the same amount of water that he used last year, he’ll be hit with fines.

The article continues “The opulent garden of Jennifer Lopez is also drawing Bronx cheers, along with the water-mooching estate Jessica Simpson bought from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne for $11.5 million two years ago. ‘They’re just as bad. And because of all their money, they can just pay the extra rates for water and let the city be damned.’”

“Khloe Kardashian, Kim’s sister, is also on the neighborhood hit list. She bought Justin Bieber’s nearby Calabasas estate last year and photos reveal her landscaping has been lushly maintained. ‘It’s green and it simply shouldn’t be,’ said one neighbor.”

“Ten miles away in Malibu , Barbra Streisand — the lefty diva who’s lectured fellow Californians and even US Presidents on energy conservation — seems oblivious to the fact the Golden State is turning into a dried-out raisin. Her pampered sprawl sticks out like a green thumb in aerial photos.”

Before we blame the hypocritical rich liberals anymore, there are two other parties that deserve some blame.

80 percent of all water used in California goes to agriculture, but when it came time for cuts, Governor Moonbeam decided to impose the five percent state-wide cut, not on all water users, meaning agriculture and people, but on people only. The reason for this is simple: Agriculture gives BIG donations to Democrat politicians.

I’m sure a few people are thinking that we need all this agriculture; well, we don’t. One source notes that ten percent of all water use goes to almond farming.

We could take the five percent cut entirely from almond farming and not have to bother anyone about how long his shower was or how many times he flushed.

Only a few right-wing talk show hosts have bothered to point out that agriculture is getting a free pass during this drought.

An even more taboo subject is the illegal alien problem. Not even the usual right-wing talk show hosts have had the guts to suggest that now would be the right time to deport a few million illegals.

I wonder if they’ll continue to be silent during the next major power outage or when the subject of overcrowded freeways comes up. Millions of illegal aliens and their millions of anchor babies use up a lot of resources that California is running out of. To continue to be prosperous, California needs to limit its population growth and it’s far better to have White people than a large population of Latinos.
