For decades Black pastors have told their congregations to go out and vote Democrat. Suburban churches, which oppose Obama’s socialist schemes and government-provided abortion, are being targeted for daring to have opinions on political issues.
The Washington Times reports: “After calling church sermons ‘fair game’ for subpoena, Houston Mayor Annise Parker backed down Wednesday from the city’s effort to force local pastors to turn over speeches and papers related to a hotly contested transgender rights ordinance.
“The city had asked five pastors for ‘all speeches, presentations, or sermons’ on a variety of topics, including the mayor, and “gender identity.” The pastors and their allies called the city’s broad demand a threat to religious freedom and proof that gay and transgender rights bills can be used as weapons to demonize Christianity. ‘The government has no business asking pastors to turn over their sermons,’ said Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican.”
The pastors are fighting against theology being dictated by City Hall, and the liberals are pulling in their horns, a bit, as they always do when anyone resists them. But they never fully retreat and they will immediately come sneaking back to try and chip away at the foundations of normalcy and to advance their agenda of creating a one-party state where normal people are forever outnumbered.
Houston used to be a straight-up Republican and pretty much Christian fundamentalist town. No more. The non-White minorities have crept in and the Democrats have taken over the city itself, with most normal people now fleeing to various suburbs to get away from the diversity and the blasphemy. The liberal tyrants will eventually follow them.
Texas is going to be an interesting place for the next few years: The Democrats are going all out to turn it Blue and get those 36 electoral votes, which will ensure that no straight White male ever sits in the Oval Office again.
