A CNBC article reports “The United States has one confirmed case of Ebola, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Tuesday…”
“The as-yet unidentified patient is located in Dallas, officials say, effectively confirming a statement issued on Monday by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. The organization said that an unnamed patient was being tested for Ebola and had been placed in “strict isolation” due to the patient’s symptoms and recent travel history.”
“In a press conference, CDC Director Tom Frieden said the patient in question had been traveling in Liberia, where he may have contracted the disease. He returned to the United States on the 20th of September, after which he sought care…”
Other reports are suggesting that he started showing symptoms on Sep. 24th and went to the hospital on Sep. 28th. This case is completely different from the infected doctors who were brought to the US on special hospital planes, who were given an ebola serum. Frankly flying those doctors to the US was another bad idea. Why not keep the ebola-infected doctors on an island for several months to be sure they were completely cured with no danger of a relapse?
In addition to the usual financial “refugees” and “asylum seekers,” there is likely to be a flood of Africans from Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia fleeing the growing ebola epidemic –some of whom will have been exposed to ebola.
Even worse, many Africans, who heard about the infected doctors being cured, who KNOW they’ve been exposed to ebola, will try to make it to America, thinking that there’s some limitless supply of the serum.
Various right-wing Internet writers were sounding the alarm and calling for a ban on direct flights from Africa to Europe or the US. All of us are currently at risk as we hold our collective breath waiting to see if anyone else in Dallas comes down with ebola, and if that happens, it’s a countdown to the disease spreading to other cities. One of the reasons that ebola was not spreading very fast in Africa is that most natives are poor, don’t own cars and it’s unlikely the virus would spread much faster than it could be walked from village to village.
How is the CDC going to contain this virus when they have no idea where this man has been the last ten days?!!! Was he using public transportation while in Dallas? Did he visit any malls? We already know that he was on a plane from Africa to the US. The CDC should probably track down all the passengers who were on that flight to see if any of them picked up ebola during that long flight.
If we’re “lucky,” he may only have been contagious and running around Dallas from Sep. 24th through Sep. 28th.
I guarantee that there was a reluctance to stop flights from Africa to the US because Barack Obama is president. Our lives and the lives of our families have been put in jeopardy thanks to political correctness and all the empty-headed liberals who voted for the mulatto because of his brown skin color so they could feel good about themselves.
